In mid-March, he was in western Tuolumne County. On February 24, he entered Alpine County after passing through portions of Lassen, Plumas, Sierra, Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, Amador and Calaveras counties. After briefly returning to Oregon, he reentered Modoc County on February 4. When his collar was providing information, he was tracked entering Modoc County on January 30, 2021. He dispersed from the White River pack in northern Oregon. The last documented wolf that far south was captured in San Bernardino County in 1922. Before his demise, he was documented traveling the farthest south in California since wolves returned to the state, which is historically wolf habitat. Young gray wolves can disperse very long distances from their natal area and OR93 is no exception. The injuries were deemed to be caused by a vehicle strike. The wolf had significant tissue trauma to the left rear leg and a dislocated knee as well as soft tissue trauma to the abdomen. The carcass was transported to the Wildlife Health Laboratory in Rancho Cordova, California where a complete necropsy was performed. ![]() A CDFW warden responded to the scene to collect the carcass which was quickly identified as OR93 because of its collar. On the afternoon of November 10, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife received a phone call from a truck driver who witnessed the deceased wolf along a dirt trail near a frontage road running parallel to I-5. Following a full investigation and necropsy, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has determined that the wolf died from trauma consistent with vehicular strike and does not suspect foul play. On November 10, OR93 was found dead near Interstate 5 near the town of Lebec, California. ![]()

After eight floors, the Ice Climbers reach the second half of the stage, the "bonus" stage, where without any enemies to worry about they must navigate a tricky platform obstacle course, collecting vegetables for bonus points, and when they reach the mountain's peak the Condor flies above. During this the Ice Climbers must contend with a few varieties of enemies native to this mountain: The relatively harmless Topi which pushes ice into gaps to impede the player's progress the more harmful bird enemy Nitpicker, which flies around and can damage the player and the pink-shorts-wearing, sunglass-sporting, upright-walking Polar bear, which pounds the ice to force the screen to move upward, and if an Ice Climber is too far down at the bottom, a life will be lost. Each stage consists of eight lower floors featuring barriers and blocks of smashable ice arranged to make jumping up and climbing each stage tricky. In Ice Climber, the player controls one of two children in Eskimo parkas and wielding huge mallets (the game can be played solo with the blue Ice Climber, Popo, seen only onscreen, or cooperatively, where the other, pink Ice Climber, Nana, is controlled by the second player simultaneously), and the challenge is to scale vertical stages, titled mountains, to recover the Ice Climbers' stolen vegetables from a giant condor that flies around at the top of each mountain. More recently, the game had been ported to several modern platforms such as the e-Reader for Game Boy Advance (as well as a Classic NES series entry), as a collectible NES game in the 2002 GameCube game Animal Crossing, and as an entry in the list of games available for the Wii Virtual Console. If you ever felt your string arrangements were lacking a bit of oomph, here’s a ready-made solution: load MA1’s low string section’s ultra-short spiccato articulation, play some loud single bass notes and prepare to have your head blown off. I’m not easily impressed by orchestral samples (or manufacturers’ claims for them), but I have to say that these low strings are phenomenal. As you’ll have guessed, this idiosyncratic line-up is designed to produce a massive bass sound, with cellos added an octave higher, for enhanced definition and bite rather than extra power. This is certainly unique - I don’t recall seeing that many double bassists gathered together anywhere outside of my local Job Centre. One such section is the so-called Wolfenstein low strings, consisting of 12 double basses seated in a circle with eight cellos positioned in front. In support of the ‘fundamentally huge’ sound the makers strive for, MA1’s orchestra features unusually large sections and line-ups which don’t follow classical tradition. Where Lang’s film was silent, this collection is anything but: it focuses on the upper end of the dynamic range, from mezzo-forte up to a “very, very loud” fortissimo. The library contains large orchestral strings, brass and woodwind sections, male and female choirs, percussion, grand piano, rock drum kit, overdriven electric guitar and a bass guitar, the latter being the only instrument recorded outside the Teldex facility. Like Orchestral Tools’ Berlin Woodwinds and Berlin Strings (reviewed in SOS March 2013 and August 2014 respectively), Metropolis Ark 1 (henceforth called MA1) was recorded from multiple mic positions in Berlin’s historic Teldex Scoring Stage, famed for its classical recordings. I think sonically it fits very well our imagination of how Lang’s Metropolis could sound, although it has nothing to do with its original soundtrack.” In a further combined tribute to the film’s Berlin origins and the library’s recording location, the makers named the sections after the street names around the studio. ![]() Why ‘Metropolis Ark’? “The ‘Ark’ part symbolizes a kind of vessel in which the spirit and atmosphere of the 1927 movie is preserved in a modern interpretation, in the form of a sample collection. ![]() Another option to note is ‘level resources within activity total float’. ![]() In our demonstration we select to level all resources. First note that you can toggle to level all resources or select resources from a list. The Primavera P6 Professional resource leveling tool in the top Tools drop down menu provides options for leveling the activity resources, Figure 3. As per Figure 3, in the resource usage profile, we see that the PM is over allocated by 8-hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It is important for this demonstration that the budgeted units/time be 8.0h/d (100%) for both PM activity assignments. No resources are assigned to acquire permits. The PM is also budgeted to work 24-hours or 3-days on write safety plan, Figure 2. As displayed in Figure 1, the Project Manager (PM) is budgeted to work 40-hours on ‘Write Statement of Work’. All relationships are finish to start (FS). This contains a project deliverable Project Planning and five activities: ‘Start Project Planning Phase’ (start milestone), ‘Write Statement of Work’, ‘Write Safety plan’, ‘Acquire Permits’, and ‘End Planning Phase’ (finish milestone). The maximum percent to over-allocate resources is the resource manager’s opportunity to specify an acceptable resource overtime amount. The minimum float specification is the resource manager’s opportunity to provide some resource allocation buffer to the agreed upon completion date. You may want to specify a minimum float to preserve throughout leveling and also a maximum acceptable resource over-allocation. Ideally, you will want to at least resource level your schedule within the available activity float. The assignment of resources should be based upon a schedule duration falling somewhere between the completely leveled and the completely non-leveled schedules. The non-resource leveled schedule is the absolute shortest schedule based on your activity durations and logic.Īs it is not adjusted to remove resource over-allocations the non-leveled schedule is not a realistic schedule you do not want to commit resources based solely upon a non-leveled resource project end date. ![]() ![]() And none of your resources would have to work overtime. The completely resource-leveled project end date would be the longest the project will take. This provides the resource manager with an understanding of the resource allocation influence on the schedule in support of resource coordination with stakeholders. Two extremes to consider are the project end date for a completely resource-leveled schedule and the project end date for a completely non-resource-leveled schedule. In preparation for the coordination of limited resources on a resource-constrained project, the resource manager would want to bracket the impact of resource allocations. This article discusses the fundamentals of resource leveling in Primavera P6 Professional to help you better prepare for resource allocation coordination efforts. This can be a particularly valuable feature when you have a resource constrained project that includes a scarce resource whose skills cannot easily be hired in to overcome shortfalls.
